What to Do When Your Cards Got Lost or Stolen?

When your wallet got stolen with your cards on it, think of these simple practical tips before your panic attack.

As much as we hate to, there are some cases when we accidentally loose our wallet with all our important things on it like money, credit card, debit card and IDs. Aside from money, we hate to loose our cards because the person who can get the card might use it purposely and before we take action on it, we’ll find ourselves indebted very badly.

Good thing that there are few tips that could help us during the times when our wallets got stolen or lost.

1. Call immediately to your credit card and bank hotline number and report the card missing. This would be the most important thing to do before the panic attack, it will save you from lots of unknown debts not made by you since the credit department will temporary cancel or freeze your account until you got the card back into your possession.
2. Ask an advice from the credit department on how to dispute fraudulent charges if ever one occur so you are not responsible for them.
3. Review your next billing statement very carefully and report discrepancies immediately.

Theft is rampant and thieves choose wisely, oftentimes they tail their victims and will do their dirty jobs when you least expected it. To prevent being a victim of these “heartless-jerks”, the government advice the people to carry less cards and at least only the cards you will be using for a certain period. Also keep your PIN numbers on a safe place and away from your wallets, as much as possible keep it in your mind (memorize it) so as not to let those thieves have it.
